FAQ
Pre-employment aptitude test questions, answered.
The things employers and candidates ask most. For plan details see aptitude test pricing, or read how the test works.
The test
- What is the Assess Aptitude test?
- A 12-minute, 50-question timed aptitude test that measures how quickly someone learns and solves problems, followed by a short behavioural questionnaire. It is built for roles where training time is short.
- How long does it take a candidate?
- The aptitude section is strictly timed at 12 minutes. The behavioural questionnaire that follows usually takes a few more minutes and is not timed.
- How do candidates take the test?
- You send each candidate an access code. They enter it on the start page, agree to the test rules, and sit the test in a browser. No download or account is needed.
- Which roles is it suited to?
- Front-line and entry-level roles such as warehouse, call centre, retail and office admin, where you need people who pick things up quickly.
Results and fairness
- What do I see after a candidate finishes?
- A scorecard with the aptitude score, a breakdown by question type, the behavioural profile, and any integrity signals recorded during the test.
- How do you discourage cheating?
- Candidates agree not to use phones, other devices or help. Questions are drawn from a rotating pool, and the test records signals such as leaving the tab, which are shown to you for review.
- Should the score decide who I hire?
- No. Use it as one input alongside interviews and references. It is a screening aid, not a hiring decision on its own.
Pricing and account
- How much does it cost?
- Plans start at $29 a month with no annual contract, and a pay-as-you-go pack is available. See the pricing page for every plan.
- Is there a free trial?
- Yes. The trial covers 5 candidate tests over 7 days, whichever comes first, with no card required. Every new company account is approved by a person first.
- Can my whole team use one account?
- Yes. Every plan includes unlimited team logins and unlimited roles.
Candidate data
- Who can see a candidate's results?
- Only the employer that issued the access code. Results are not shared with other companies.
- How can a candidate have their data corrected or deleted?
- Candidates should contact the employer that gave them the access code, as that employer controls their results.
